Can Technology Stop Exam Paper Leaks in India?

Millions of students in India study for years, sacrificing money, time, and family events, only to find out their exam paper was leaked. This completely shatters their dreams, causes huge financial and emotional stress, and makes them lose trust in the government.

A New Digital Solution

Nandan Nilekani, who is leading a government task force to fix this issue, has proposed a new idea. Under the current system, physical exam papers are printed weeks in advance, which gives people plenty of chances to steal and sell them.

To fix this, Nilekani suggests replacing physical papers with Artificial Intelligence (AI) and digital systems. He proposes creating a giant digital bank of questions. On the actual day of the test, AI would instantly put together the exam and deliver it on computers, leaving almost no time for anyone to leak it.

Is Technology Enough?

While moving exams online makes them safer, it is not a perfect fix. Digital systems can still be hacked, and passwords can be sold. Technology alone cannot completely solve a problem that is ultimately caused by human greed and corruption.

What Students Really Need

To truly fix the system and win back the trust of young people, India needs more than just AI. The government must focus on:

Strict Punishments: Holding people accountable and punishing those who leak papers.

Honest Checks: Having independent groups check the system to ensure it is secure.

Clear Communication: Being honest with students when mistakes happen and protecting their futures.

AI can definitely help make exams safer, but an honest, fair, and transparent system is what students truly deserve.
